Update: DOTD advises motorists of field testing along US 167

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises that crews will be continuing field testing along US 167 (Evangeline Thruway) from 6th Street to Taft Street. Work is anticipated to start Wednesday, July 8, 2020, and last approximately four days with work dependent on weather. Motorists can expect work to occur any time between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day. Lane closures are not needed, and impact to traffic is expected to be low.

The purpose of the field testing is to characterize current soil and groundwater conditions, and is part of the ongoing Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) document for the I-49 Connector project. For more information on the I-49 Lafayette Connector project.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises that beginning Monday, June 15 crews will be conducting field testing along US 167 (Evangeline Thruway) from 6th Street to Taft Street. Work is expected to last approximately one week and is dependent on weather. Lane closures are not needed, and impact to traffic is expected to be low.
