(LAFAYETTE, La.) – DOTD and its Lafayette Connector Partners held a “Community Vision & Values Workshop” Saturday, Jan. 23, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Progressive Outreach Center located at 125 Gallian St. in Lafayette. The workshop was the first of many events planned for the year where the community can share its ideas, hopes and opinions about the I-49 Lafayette Connector.

Where Are We Now? The First Three Months in Review.
Significant strides have been made in educating and engaging the community about the project, since the project launch in October.
Since the I-49 Lafayette Connector’s Project Launch and Public Information Meeting in October, the project team has been focused on engaging the community through monthly work group meetings, targeted outreach through key stakeholder interviews, and providing information and project updates to the public at large via our project website and social media.

Eunice Today: I-49 completion cited as one of state’s top building projects
(LAFAYETTE, La.) –With U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy present, the completion of Interstate 49 was touted as one of the state’s top infrastructure priorities at meeting hosted by One Acadiana, a nine-parish chamber of commerce.
Gregg Gothreaux, Lafayette Economic Development Authority president and CEO, said, “You are talking about the most important project we can do in the history of the community, second probably to creating the university, maybe.”

DOTD hosts launch event for I-49 Lafayette Connector
(LAFAYETTE, La.) – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) recently hosted a launch event and public information meeting for the I-49 Lafayette Connector project. Held at the Rosa Parks Transportation Center Tuesday, Oct. 6, the event included remarks from DOTD Secretary Sherri H. LeBas along with local and state officials about the importance of this project for the future of Acadiana.
